Anyone can render something beautiful.
We build what's still standing after the monsoon, the tremor,
and the years no one's watching anymore.

About the studio

A regional practice, built on national-grade standards

Rishiraj Enterprises is a multidisciplinary architecture, interior design and construction firm based in Guwahati. For over thirty years we've worked alongside developers, hospitality groups and public institutions across India to deliver buildings that hold up to daily use and still feel considered years later.

Every project is led by the same core team from concept through handover — one point of contact, one set of drawings, one standard of finish — so nothing gets lost in translation between design and site.

The Northeast sets its own brief: a humid, high-rainfall climate, some of the most seismically active ground in the country, and sites that are rarely flat or simple to access. We treat those as design inputs, not obstacles — they shape everything from foundation depth to roof overhang before a single elevation is drawn.

That regional grounding is matched with a national outlook. As our client base has grown beyond Assam, we've kept the same habits that built our reputation here: realistic timelines, transparent costing, and drawings that match what actually gets built.

"Good architecture in this region has to answer to the climate, the site and the budget — in that order. We design for all three." — Founding Principal, Rishiraj Enterprises

Engineering & standards

The technical foundation behind every design

A beautiful drawing means nothing if it can't be built safely, in this climate, on this ground. Every project moves through the same set of technical checks before it reaches site — regardless of scale.

This is the part of the process clients rarely see. We think it's worth showing.

Structural

Seismic-first structural design

Assam and the wider Northeast sit within India's highest seismic hazard classification. Every structure we design accounts for ductile detailing, ground conditions and lateral load paths from the first structural sketch — not as a compliance step added later.

Zone V · IS 1893
Climate

Engineered for the monsoon

Deep overhangs, positive drainage falls, and waterproofing detailed at every roof and podium junction — standard practice in a region that sees some of the heaviest rainfall in the country. Passive cross-ventilation reduces reliance on mechanical cooling for most of the year.

Documentation

Modelled before it's built

Structural, architectural and MEP drawings are coordinated digitally before issue, so clashes between a beam and a duct get caught on screen, not on site. Clients typically walk through an interactive 3D massing study before detailed design begins — you can try a version of that below.

BIM-coordinated
Materials

Regional materials, engineered tolerances

Local stone, timber and Assam's long tradition of bamboo craft sit alongside engineered steel, glass and concrete — chosen on merit for each application, sourced where the quality-to-cost ratio actually works, and specified to a tolerance a site crew can hit.

Local + engineered
Compliance

Built to code, inspected on schedule

Design and detailing follow the National Building Code of India, with a fixed site-inspection cadence and a named safety point of contact on every active site — including projects executed inside live, operating buildings.

How we work

From first meeting to final key handover

01

Consultation

We visit the site, assess soil and access conditions, and confirm feasibility against your brief, budget and timeline before any design work begins.

02

Design & Planning

Concept drawings, 3D massing and material selection, refined with you and checked against statutory and structural requirements until every detail is signed off.

03

Execution

In-house project managers and vetted contractors keep construction on schedule, with weekly site reports, safety checks and scheduled inspection visits.

04

Handover & Support

A final walkthrough, snag-list closure, and a maintenance point of contact for the first year after handover.

What we do

Services

Comprehensive solutions from blueprint to reality — engaged individually or as a single turnkey scope.

Architecture

Concept design, structural planning and statutory drawings for commercial, hospitality and residential buildings. Massing and climate response are studied together from the earliest sketch, not bolted on afterward.

Interior Design

Tailored, liveable environments that balance ergonomics with durable, high-end material finishes — material palettes and lighting plans developed specifically for hospitality, corporate or residential use.

Project Management

Dedicated site supervision, vendor vetting and schedule tracking so timelines are met without compromising quality — with fixed QA checkpoints built into every construction phase.

Turnkey Construction

Single-contract build execution — civil, MEP and finishing — delivered to the approved design and specification, with one point of accountability from foundation to fit-out.

Renovation & Retrofit

Structural upgrades — including seismic retrofitting for older structures — and full interior refits for ageing properties, hotels and office spaces, with minimal downtime for live sites.

Sustainability Consulting

Passive cooling, daylighting and rainwater harvesting strategies suited to a high-rainfall climate, plus material choices that lower long-term operating and maintenance costs.

Explore the massing

Long before a facade is drawn, we study a building as a "massing model" — a simplified 3D study of its volume, proportion and relationship to the site. It's how we test whether a form actually works before investing in detail.

Try it yourself: drag to orbit, scroll or pinch to zoom, and switch between three typologies we design often.

Frequently Asked Questions

A residential interior fit-out usually runs 8–14 weeks; full turnkey construction projects range from 6 months to 2 years depending on scale and approvals.

Yes. Our team manages statutory drawings, municipal approvals and liaison work as part of the architecture scope, so you don't have to coordinate it separately.

We regularly step into stalled or handed-off projects. We start with a site and drawing audit before quoting on the remaining scope.

We are headquartered in Guwahati and serve clients across India — Pan India projects from concept through delivery.

Yes — every project is coordinated digitally before issue, and most clients walk through an interactive 3D massing study during design, similar to the explorer on this page, before detailed drawings are finalised.

All structural and architectural work follows the National Building Code of India and the relevant seismic provisions of IS 1893 for this region's hazard classification, alongside local municipal building bye-laws.
